Also includes sound recordings of programs, jingles, soundtracks, music, historical recordings, interviews, editorials, soundtracks, movie promotions, easy listening music, documentaries and advertisements. McLendon started KLIF, Dallas and began the Liberty Broadcasting System, an independent affiliation that encompassed over 400 radio stations during its five years of operation. He was also the voice of the "Old Scotsman" broadcasting sports events and during the 1950s he developed the top 40 format.

Papers include the order of events for the radio program that covered the ceremony decommissioning and recommissioning the battleship into the Texas Navy, April 11-June 11, 1948, and transcripts of speeches.

Collection includes 12 radio scripts from early 1950s. The collection is largely unprocessed, but two specific program titles are "The Rio Grande Valley Citrus Fiesta," which originated at KRGV and was broadcast on NBC’s National Farm and Home Hour, and "The Rio Grande Flood" from 1954.
In addition to being a radio station, KUT was for many years the hub of the Longhorn Broadcasting Network. As a result, the station received tapes of numerous series from producers in the U.S. and abroad, including music, interviews with artists, writers and musicians and comedy. Bryson was a broadcaster with KTSM, El Paso, TX, 1936-1954, and later a TV news anchor. Collection includes radio scripts for several programs, including Fort Bliss Centennial, Pathfinders of Medicine, 25th Anniversary, Magoffin, Gifts of the Season, El Paso Pays Tribute, Master of Music, Over SW Trails, Voice of El Paso, Southern Union Gas Co. Industry at the Pass of the North, Men of Vision, Through the Years, Farm Reporter and other special programs.
