An extensive collection dealing with humor in many genres. Includes the works of many humorists and comedians who performed on radio such as Fred Allen, George Bums, Gracie Allen and others.
Approximately 350 William and Mary scripts written as skits for the Dinah Shore Show, 1943-1944, with Cornelia Otis Skinner as Mary and Roland Young as William.
Consists of 350 radio and television scripts representing musical variety, science fiction, drama, mystery, westerns and comedies of the 1950s and 1960s and related correspondence, promotional and program material. A list of scripts is available.
Contains approximately 500,000 pieces of sheet music, largely American, including about 35,000 pieces representing songs from the musical theatre, films, radio and television shows. Many of the pieces, primarily 1930s and 1940s, include photographs of the individuals or groups (bands, orchestras etc.) who are identified as radio performers. Also includes a large collection of band and orchestra arrangements that were used by WEEI's orchestra until it was disbanded. Note: Because the sheet music, only some of which is listed in the online catalog, is filed by title, a researcher would have to see the actual cover to determine if it included a photograph of a radio personality.
